Emergency Relief Project

To alleviate the actual and potential burdens of displacement on PWDs among refugees from Syria and in host communities, by addressing their “life-saving” rehabilitation needs, upgrading their physical and psychological wellbeing, nurturing independent living, and expanding their contributions to family and social wellbeing; all within the context of effective advocacy of their safety, dignity, and rights.

Title: Alleviating the Burdens of Displacement on Persons With Disabilities Among Refugees from Syria and in Lebanese Host Communities.

Obectives:

  • Ojective 1: To improve the physical and psychosocial wellbeing and achieve greater independence of PWDs with “life-saving” needs, among refugees from Syria and in host communities, and to expand their contribution to family and social wellbeing.
  • Objective 2: To improve “Disability” related awareness and knowledge of PWDs among refugees from Syria and in host communities, their caregivers, and all concerned with disability and rehabilitation in the targeted communities.
  • Objective 3: To upgrade the technical skills and capacities of stakeholders, partners, service providers, and humanitarian workers involved with the emergency and humanitarian response to the needs of PWDs among refugees from Syria and in host communities.
  • Objective 4: To promote advocacy, networking, partnerships and resource mobilization to address the needs of PWDs among refugees from Syria and in host communities.
     

Programming and Implementation:

  • Nationwide, across Lebanon.
  • Providing person-focused assistance services in collaboration with local organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), civil society organizations (CSOs), local service providers, and other relevant parties.
  • Building/expanding cooperation and partnerships with concerned UN, international, national and community based native counterparts, and other stakeholders.
