Emergency Relief Project

To improve the physical and psycho-social well-being and livelihoods of persons with disabilities, who have “life-saving” needs, among refugees from Syria (RfS) and their peers in Lebanese host communities (LHCs), in order to improve their protection, livelihoods, and social inclusion.

Title: Alleviating the Burdens of Displacement on Persons With Disabilities Among Refugees from Syria and in Lebanese Host Communities.

Objectives:

  • Objective 1: To improve the physical and psycho-social well-being and productivity of 760 PWDs with “life-saving” and “life-sustaining” needs, among RfS and in LHCs. Particular attention will be given to PWDs among the most vulnerable RfS and in LHCs.
  • Objective 2: To strengthen the capacities of national and local service delivery systems by collaborating with, and expanding the capacity of, concerned local service providers (mainly NGOs, CBOs and DPOs) and professional practitioners, to expand access to, and quality of, basic rehabilitation services.
  • Objective 3: To promote advocacy, networking, partnerships, and resource mobilization among local partners and concerned authorities and stakeholders to address the protection needs of PWDs among RfS and in LHCs.
     

Programming and Implementation:

  • Nationwide, across Lebanon.
  • Providing person-focused assistance services in collaboration with local organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), civil society organizations (CSOs), local service providers, and other relevant parties.
  • Proactive coordination with local, national, international, and UN stakeholders.
